We are pleased to announce a new show at the Arts & Cultural Center! “Unequivocally Kentucky”, featuring the wonderful infrared photography of Jan Albers and fine graphite drawings by Joseph Kinsey, opens on Sunday, September 13th with a reception from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Many of you may be familiar with the work of these talented artists. Jan is widely traveled gathering images for her art in many regions. Joseph is a retired architect with a great eye and hand for artistic rendering. In this particular show they focus on the beauty of our beloved commonwealth of Kentucky.
The exhibit will run through October 24th. The Arts & Cultural Center is located at 117 North Water Street in Georgetown. Regular gallery hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 12:00 to 4:00 pm and by appointment. “Unequivocally Kentucky” will also open on Sunday afternoons. The show is free and open to the public. Daniel Graham and Daniel Kincer, art professors from Georgetown College, are featured in the new exhibit at the Arts & Cultural Center, 117 North Water St. in Georgetown. Daniel will exhibit woodcuts and sculpture. Darrell will exhibit photography. Graham received his Master of Fine Arts in printmaking at the Lamar Dodd School of Arts at the University of Georgia, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Florida. Kincer was educated in the fine arts at Asbury College and Savannah College of Art & Design. Don’t miss this intriguing show by these very talented and creative artists. The Scott County Arts Consortium welcomes master gardener Karen Angelucci to the Arts & Cultural Center on July 18, 1:00 to 3:00 PM for a book signing. She will speak at 2:00. A native of Cynthiana, Karen knew early in life that “gardening was her thing”. She says “gardening is such a joy in my life as well as a reflection of my family’s history”. Desiring to share her gardening secrets she penned “Secrets of a Kentucky Gardener” and “Secrets of Tennessee Gardening”. She is a Fayette County Master Gardener. She volunteers for the Arboretum at the University of Kentucky, McConnell Springs, and at the the Mary Todd Lincoln House. She is Horticulture Chair for the Garden Clubs of Kentucky, President of the Lexington Council of Garden Clubs, and President of Soil Mates Garden Club. She also chairs the LFUCG Tree Board. Married and the mother of two children, she nevertheless finds lots of time for her favorite activity. We hope you’ll join us for an afternoon of garden tips and refreshments.
