The Life and Times of Governor William Goebel

The Scott County Arts Consortium presents a film festival on Governor William Goebel. For those interested in Kentucky history and politics this should be a great day! The festival features two films: “damn bad oyster….The Life and Times of William Goebel, Governor” by filmmaker Sean Anderson, which is on the Al Smith Fellowship Filmmaker Tour and has been seen on KET; and “Price and Power, William Goebel, the Man and the Myth by Georgetown’s own Dr. Ron Bryant and Tamara Gregory!

The festival is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Asher Science Center, Room 112, Georgetown College, at 320 E. College St. All are welcome to attend. Admission is free; donations are encouraged. The festival is made possible by an Al Smith Fellowship grant from the Kentucky Arts Council. Partnering in the event are Georgetown College, Scott County Council of the Arts, and Georgetown & Scott County Museum.

Regististration is from 9:00 to 9:30 am. Dr. James Klotter will open the program with a brief talk. Sean Anderson’s film will be screened at 10:00, with the second film scheduled for 12:30 following a lunch break. At 2:15 Dr. Klotter will moderate a panel discussion with Sean Anderson, Ron Bryant and Tamara Gregory. Then we’ll walk to the Museum to view an exhibit of Goebel artifacts.
