The Gallery & Gifts Holiday Market at the Arts & Cultural Center, 117 North Water St., has been extended to December 19th. “Gallery & Gifts” holiday market artists’ reception,etc.
A reception to meet the artists who have work on display in the Gallery & Gifts holiday market has been scheduled for Sunday, November 9th, 12 to 4 pm. Arts & Cultural Center, 117 North Water St., Georgetown. Sharon Thompson, writer for the Lexington Herald-Leader will be on hand from 2 to 4 to sign her book “Flavors of Kentucky” now in its second printing. On Thursday, November 13th Georgia Green Stamper, author of “You Can Go Anywhere from the Crossroads” will give a reading at 6:30 pm. Gallery hours are Tuesdays through Sundays, 12 to 4pm; open till 8pm on Thursdays. For information call Barbara at 502-863-0909.

It is so exciting to see all the beautiful and unique items that are arriving as Scott County Arts Consortium prepares to offer its second annual Holiday Market. Opening on November 1 at the Arts & Cultural Center, 117 North Water St., Georgetown, the market is planned to run through November 30, but could be extended. Hours are Tuesdays through Sundays, noon to 4 pm; open Thursdays till 8 pm. Also open by appointment. Please call Barbara at 502-863-0909. Paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, notecards, jewelry, textiles, ornaments, ceramics, pottery, fused glass, stained glass, and much more will be offered for sale by 40 local and regional artists and artisans. A range of prices will allow you to shop locally and support the Arts & Cultural Center and our local artists. If you like unique gift items and original art this is your place to shop. Come and see what we have to offer before you head out of town to the malls. You won’t be sorry!
1890s Arts Celebration, 6th Annual ArtWorks Weekend
October 10 – 12. Arts Celebration with an 1890s theme, the 6th Annual ArtWorks Weekend. A multitude of activities, something for everyone. Street Fair, Saturday 10 am to 4 pm, Arts & Cultural Center, 117 N. Water Street with with lots of entertainment; good food. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, three performances of Magic Theatre II at Cooke Memorial Building. An exciting Variety Show, John L. Hill Chapel, Saturday evening 7 pm. Scott County Art League regional show, Saturday afternoon 3 to 5:30 pm. Annual Tour of Historic Homes, Sunday, 1 – 5 pm. Yuko-En Garden offers various activities over the weekend. The Scott County Arts Consortium hosts its second “Art for the Soul – Food for the Body” lunch with the arts on October 27. Holy Trinity Episcopal Parish House, 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. The menu is soup beans and cornbread, or baked potato, & dessert. Entertainment by Jim Callowy and Henry Jones. $10.00. Call for reservations by October 24, 867-7564.
